Welcome to Alpine Advent
I’m Tara Stewart, a New Englander who fell in love with European Christmas markets during my travels across Austria, Germany, and France. Those magical winter evenings – the warm glow of wooden chalets, the scent of handcrafted goods, the joy of discovering one-of-a-kind treasures from local artisans – stayed with me long after I returned home to New Hampshire’s White Mountains.
But here’s what struck me most: the authentic community spirit. These weren’t tourist attractions – they were genuine celebrations of regional craftsmanship and holiday traditions that brought neighbors together and welcomed visitors as friends.

Market Magic
Alpine Advent is my dream of recreating that same authentic magic here in New England. Not as a copy, but as something uniquely ours. European-inspired traditions that celebrate the incredible artisans, craftspeople, and culinary creators who call New Hampshire home.
This inaugural season, twelve traditional wooden chalets in Waterville Valley’s town square will showcase the finest regional craftsmanship I’ve discovered throughout our beautiful state. Every vendor has been personally selected not just for their exceptional quality, but because they represent New England’s rich heritage of making beautiful things by hand.Alpine Advent’s first season represents something special – a chance to discover New Hampshire’s hidden artisan gems before word spreads. When you visit this November and December, you’re not just shopping; you’re becoming part of a new tradition that celebrates what makes our mountain communities extraordinary.
From handcrafted ornaments that tell New England stories to alpine-inspired cuisine that warms you from the inside out, every purchase supports local creators who pour their hearts into their craft.
Alpine Advent’s inaugural season begins November 28th.
Before the crowds discover what we’re building, I invite you to be part of the story from the beginning.
Warmly,
Tara
